The Opportunity
Jim Gauthier is seeking a dynamic, strategic communicator who is immersed in social media and will use it to engage current and prospective new clients. You're an avid user and proponent of digital communication who knows how to effectively and intelligently leverage all forms of it to generate buzz, create and build online communities, and drive overall brand performance in the context of broader marketing and communications campaigns. Reporting into the Vice President, your specific responsibilities will be to:
- Provide direction on the optimal use of social media tools in the context of broader business and branding objectives.
- Manage corporate social media sites, cultivating and managing branded online communities using relevant social media tools including digital analytics.
- Write content for delivery via appropriate digital channels to target audience
- Conduct relevant industry research to ensure an understanding of client verticals, channels and competitive factors
- Monitor, report, analyze and refine social media activities, and develop response and escalation protocols for user feedback / comments.
- Support / provide direction around social media relations, including distribution, monitoring and reporting on social media releases.
- Maintain quality assurance for online editorial content, including visual elements, such as layout, typography and context
- Work to improve search engine optimization (SEO), including development of metadata and keyword content and analyzing content on existing sites.
- Support client relationships through responsive, proactive service through data base management.
- Support the Vice President and management team with various projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate
- You have an intimate familiarity with all forms of online communication, including social media tools such as YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, and reddit, as well as forums, wikis and blogs.
- You have a university degree with preference in business or marketing
- You have excellent writing and editing skills
- You have a working knowledge of content management systems as well as standard Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Your ability to conduct market research and track results includes the use of current, relevant digital analytics tools.
- Your solid organizational skills include meticulous attention to details and follow-up.
- You're highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional, and present a professional appearance and demonstrated commitment to quality and client service.
- You're a team player who also can work independently, and you follow through on assigned projects to completion.
