Take the Fort Western Canadian show dates announced
February 2, 2009 - Winnipeg – Take the Fort is a Métis multi-media variety show telling the story of the Red River Resistance of 1869 through music, dance, video and interviews with Métis historians. This tour is a cross-Canada venture striving to entertain and educate all Canadians about this significant part of Manitoba’s history.
The Métis Tour kicks off with a performance in Winnipeg, on February 17th, 2009 at the Martial Caron Theatre located in Saint Boniface College, 200 avenue de la Cathédrale.
Consecutive performances include:
Thursday, February 19th in Vancouver at The Capilano Performing Arts Theatre, 2055 Purcell Way, *presented by the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad
Friday, February 20th in Calgary at The Calgary Public Library, 616 MacLeod Trail
Saturday, February 21st in Saskatoon at The Broadway Theatre, 715 Broadway Avenue
Sunday, February 22nd in Regina at The Regina Performing Arts Centre, 1077 Angus Street.
Take the Fort is an explosive live performance featuring Manitoba Métis artists The Norman Chief Memorial Dancers, Fiddlers Darren Lavalee and friends, and the Puppet Folk.
