Field Assistant Career – Aboriginal Initiative
Working in partnership, the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, the Manitoba Metis Federation, the City of Winnipeg, invite you to attend an Information Session to find out more about opportunity for funded training towards employment for Aboriginal individuals as Field Assistants with the Assessment and Taxation Department at the City of Winnipeg.
Individuals who fit the following criteria may be selected to receive financial assistance towards the required Real Property Assessment courses delivered by University of BC distance education. After successful completion of the required courses, there will be opportunity for employment as Field Assistants with the City of Winnipeg.
Individuals must meet the following requirements prior to employment:
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
· Completion of Real Property Assessment courses
Please note that the Certificate Program in Real Property Assessment is a technical and specialized program. It has been designed for highly motivated people seeking to join the industry and for practitioners already employed in the real estate industry who want to upgrade their education. Many courses in this program require familiarity with basic algebra. Internet access is required as these courses are conducted by distant education.
If you have a post- secondary degree or diploma you are required to complete the following two courses:
· Foundations in Real Estate Mathematics
· Foundations of Real Estate Appraisal
Individuals with Grade 12 are required to complete the following 5 courses:
· Foundations of Real Estate Mathematics
· Foundations of Real Estate Appraisal
· Statistical and Computer Applications in Valuation
· Real Property Assessment Administration
· Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal
