Provides services to welcome and settle refugee newcomers to Winnipeg. United Way supports the volunteer program, which has three components: Friendship Partners, who are volunteers helping newcomers learn more about Winnipeg while practicing their language skills; Settlement Assistants, newcomers who help the recently arrived access services; and Health Advocates, medical students who provide services for newly-arrived refugees at regularly-scheduled clinics. |
