Are you between the ages of 16 to 30? Are you out of school? Are you unemployed? EYEE can help! The Elmwood Youth Employment Experience (EYEE) is a 28-week employability and life skills training program, funded by Service Canada. The program’s mission is helping youth ages 16 to 30 to overcome their barriers to finding and retaining employment through the development of “The 9 Essential Skills”. The program runs in 2 sections, the first being 24 weeks of in class training; and the second includes 4 weeks of work placement at a business that meets the participants’ work interests. In EYEE, participants develop resumes and cover letters, their interview skills and strategies to find work. They also learn about safe work practices and employment standards in The Province of Manitoba. Job retention skills such as money management, conflict resolution and anger management training is provided as well, so participants have a better chance of retaining employment after they have found it. Individuals are paid to attend in-class lessons and work experience. To book an appointment to apply, call Jeff at 982-1720. |
