Dam Safety Management System Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Professional Engineer to join our Dam Safety Section of the Civil Engineering
Department located in Winnipeg, Manitoba for a four year term position. Under the general direction of the Section Head,
you will be responsible for the Corporation's Dam Safety Management System.
As the Management System Engineer you will perform the following work:
- Develop, coordinate and maintain a management system for the Corporation's dam safety program in coordination with
the generation groups.
- Develop a formal process for establishing and maintaining policies, principles, guidelines and practices related to dam
safety.
- Provide engineering assessment, and lead teams in the assessment, interpretation and implementation of the
requirements of the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) guidelines relative to Manitoba Hydro.
You will possess a Bachelor Degree in Engineering, a minimum of seven years of related experience, and be registered or
eligible for registration with APEGM (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba). A Master's
degree in engineering or business administration would be an asset. An advanced knowledge of dam safety at hydraulic
generating stations and the CDA guidelines is required. Previous experience in the design or maintenance of hydraulic
generating stations and with quality management systems would be highly desirable.
You will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience in planning, prioritizing and scheduling work. You must also
possess excellent communication skills and be able to liaise effectively with managers, consultants, other engineers, and
generating station staff. You will possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence and be prepared to travel to
generating facilities as required.
