Keeping Top Performers (All Day)
|
Employee Retention -- How to Motivate and Develop Your Top Performers.
With a host of new challenges and responsibilities
to tackle, supervisors need training like never before. Learning how
to supervise new employees with little or no HR experience can lead to
discouragement. Through interactive discussions, group work and
exercises, this workshop will help teach participants how to retain and
develop staff and volunteers over the long term.
Specific learning objectives include:
Recognize the responsibilities you have as a supervisor -- to yourself, your team, and your organization.
Acquire a basic understanding of leadership, team
building, communication, and motivation, and what part they play in
employee retention.
Develop strategies for motivating your team, giving constructive feedback, and resolving conflict.
Understanding Your Employees
Employees who feel a connection to their manager
are often highly productive and engaged in their work. Having a greater
understanding of the dynamics of their work relationship will result
in a more productive and positive working relationship
Trust
Participants will discuss why trust is so important in a work environment, and how to build trust.
Communication
Participants will discuss what communication is, what
can be a barrier to communication, how to engage in active listening,
and how to ask effective questions.
Motivation
Participants will talk about different approaches to motivation.
Giving and Receiving Feedback
Giving feedback is one of the most important
management tasks, yet many people find it a tricky area. This session
will give participants some tools that they can use.
Dealing with Conflict
This session will provide participants with ways to resolve conflict.
Performance Management
Performance management is a crucial part of helping
an employee grow. During this session, we will explore the performance
management process.

Neurodevelopmental
research has established that, because of the brain’s extreme
malleability and sensitivity to experience in early childhood, traumatic
events in the first few years of life have long-term impacts on
emotional, behavioral, cognitive, social and physiological functioning.
This is particularly likely if the events are severe, unpredictable, or
persistent (Perry, 1994). This workshop will introduce the
neurobiological effects of early developmental trauma upon the brain and
resultant behavior. Methods for effectively working with children and
adults who have suffered from ongoing, recent and past
neurodevelopmental trauma will be discussed.
The goal of this
workshop is to give counselors, therapists, social service and mental
health care providers an understanding of trauma from an attachment
perspective and to introduce effective interventions that incorporate
the body, the mind and the emotions. This information will be of
interest to anyone working with children, adolescents, adults and
families.

Neurodevelopmental
research has established that, because of the brain’s extreme
malleability and sensitivity to experience in early childhood, traumatic
events in the first few years of life have long-term impacts on
emotional, behavioral, cognitive, social and physiological functioning.

persistent (Perry, 1994). This workshop will introduce the
