Elections Manitoba is the non-partisan office responsible for conducting fair and impartial elections in the province.
We are currently recruiting for the positions of Returning Officer and/or Assistant Returning Officer in the electoral divisions of St. Boniface, St. Vital and St. Norbert where there are vacancies. It is a requirement that the applicant lives in their respective electoral division and speaks French and English. Our previous advertising efforts have not caught the attention of members of the French community and we are asking you as an important business/service for the area to help us reach out to bilingual people who may be interested in this position.
The positions of Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer provide a very distinctive and rewarding opportunity for voters to participate in the democratic process within the province. These are paid positions requiring people with strong organizational, management, training and computer skills. Recruitment is done through merit-based competitions. These competitions will remain open until filled.
Extensive training will be ongoing until the next provincial election. Following training there will be some hands on assignments which Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers will be required to complete in order for them to familiarize themselves and feel comfortable in their position.
