Women and the Law – Workshop for Community Women: Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre presents a two –part workshop series for women who are experiencing legal issues and concerns. Workshops will be presented by lawyer Maria Versace of Myers Weinberg LLP and will provide basic legal information and resources. Monday, April 19^th – Preparing a Will and Administration of Estates; Monday, April 26^th – Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives. Workshops will be held from 12:30-2:30 pm at our Outreach Centre #104-3100 Pembina Hwy  - Buzz Code 1003. Space is limited – Pre registration is required by calling 477-1123. This is a women only event. Childcare, Healthy Snacks and Bus Tickets are available. Workshop is free – please consider donating a non perishable food item to FGWRC for women and children in need. Discovering Your Creativity – Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre invites you to a two – part workshop journey on re-awakening your beautiful, authentic, creative self. Workshops will be presented by artists Carmela Wade & Sandra Brown. The goal is to inspire and motivate you in discovering the joyful process of creativity. Tuesday April 20^th – Will focus on gently encouraging you to the centre of your inner world through spontaneous art-making.  The atmosphere will be light and playful as you will discover that no special talent or skill is required to embark on our creative exercises; Tuesday April 27^th - We will continue to explore this re-awakened 'creativity' in your life, with more fun and creative exercises.  Our goal is for you to fall in love with your own personal creative process and keep doing it as a daily practice. Participants can attend one or both workshops – Materials Provided. Workshops will be held from 6-8 pm sharp at 1150A Waverley Street. Space is limited – pre registration is required by calling 477-1123. This is a women only event. Workshop is free – Non perishable food items or monetary donations towards FGWRC are gladly accepted.

Women and the Law – Workshop for Female Service Providers: On Safe Social Networking. The Workshop will be presented by lawyer Jamie Alyce Jurczak of Taylor McCaffrey LLP and will provide basic legal information and resources. You will get an overview of: What social networking sites are; Legal impact of information from social networking sites; Legal implications and dangers when social networking sites are not used responsibly; The importance of privacy settings; Why it is important to know the people you network with; and Tips for safe social networking. Thursday, April 22^nd 2010 from 10:00 – 12 Noon at Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre  - 1150A Waverley Street. Space is limited – pre registration is required by calling 477-1123. This is a women only event. Healthy snacks and bus tickets are available. Workshop is free – please consider donating a non perishable food item to FGWRC for women and children in need. Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture Clinic for Women:  Thursday mornings 11:45 am -12:45 pm ( doors close at 12:00 noon) April 29^th – June 17^th 2010 at Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre – 1150A Waverley Street.  All treatments are free – donations welcome! Women and Self Esteem Group:  This 8-week, women only support group, will explore ways to build inner strength and encourage women to reconnect with their own sources of insight, wisdom and ways of well being. Fridays 9:30-12:00 May 7^th – June 25^th 2010 at 1150A Waverley Street. Pre registration and in – person intake are required. Please call 477-1123 before April 23^rd to register.
