Welcome to the Summer edition of the Aboriginal Youth Mean Business! e-newsletter.
We are proud to feature another young Aboriginal entrepreneur - Kirk Mann.
Our main message for this newsletter is to remind youth that Entrepreneurship is not only about operating a business - it's about 'thinking' like a business owner and nurturing that business 'state of mind' is happening in many places in Manitoba. The Aboriginal Youth Mean Business! Initiative is currently supporting a school-based program where Grade 11 and 12 students at Children of the Earth High School in Winnipeg are not only starting a small business but learning to 'think like an entrepreneur'. Taking special classes in the fundamentals of business, like accounting, marketing etc, and with the help of business experts as mentors, that special class of students is learning to take a business approach to exploring business ownership but more importantly, they are taking a business approach to school, to choosing future employment or to deciding to continue their education after high school.
If we take a 'business approach' to all our life's decisions, maybe we can make sure all our decisions pay off.
Please check out the latest news and events, meet our featured young entrepreneur and learn about all the support services featured on our site under Learning, Planning, Financing and Growing. Find out who is doing business in Manitoba under our list of existing Aboriginal businesses or find out what is happening in Canada by clicking on 'national resources'.
Explore your inner businessperson and enjoy the newsletter.
