Qualifications: Post secondary education in Social Sciences and directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and Justice issues. Experience in community networking and implementing culturally appropriate interventions and programming. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Assessment skills and effective intervention planning for general offending, domestic violence and sex offenders for adult and youth offenders. Knowledge/experience in case management, stages of change and motivational interviewing is preferred. Experience with program facilitation and presentation would be considered an asset. Computer experience, preferably in MS Office 2003. Knowledge of restorative justice practices and alternative measures is considered an asset. A valid driver's license and the ability to work flexible hours are required. Travel by air into remote communities may be required. Ability to work in both official languages. The successful candidate will be subject to internal security checks, a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check. Duties: Preparation of thorough assessments for court/case management; community development and implementation of intervention plans; group facilitation and individual client counseling for the Eastman area.
