Free English-learning opportunity for newcomers:

Winnipeg Public Library in partnership with the International Centre is pleased to announce an English Conversation Group for Winter 2009.

English Conversation Groups are weekly discussion groups held to help adult newcomers improve their English skills in a social environment.  This is an excellent opportunity to practice spoken-language.

Each session lasts 8 weeks and is led by an International Centre volunteer.  Participants are expected to attend all 8 sessions.  There is no charge for this program.  Registration is limited to 10 participants per Group.

An approximate Level 4 Canadian Language Benchmark is required to participate.  Potential registrants will be assessed through a short phone conversation with a Winnipeg Public Library staff member.
