June 23, 2008 RED RIVER OPERATION CLEAN-UP CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP - - - Organization has been Cleaning Red River Shores Since 1999: Struthers Conservation Minster Stan Struthers today congratulated members of Red River Operation Clean-up for 10 years of environmental stewardship and leadership. "Your organization provides a great example of environmental leadership by cleaning debris from the shores of the Red River that would otherwise end up in Lake Winnipeg," said Struthers. "We understand about 200,000 pounds of garbage have been removed from the shores of the Red and we congratulate Red River Operation Clean-up." The province funded the organization as part of the Special Conservation and Endangered Species Fund.
